Our story

Minamo, founded in 2023 as a spinoff from the University of Iceland by Prof. Már Másson (PhD), and Dr. Vivien Nagy (PhD), emerges from the cutting-edge work of Már's research group at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Pioneering advancements in biopolymers and material sciences, their extensive research journey has culminated in a revolutionary discovery—a novel silicone coating engineered to deter pathogen adhesion. Recognized through grants and awards, the Minamo technology proudly stands as a patent-protected testament to innovation and impactful research.
